Absentee ballot deadline extended

From Chester County Voter Services:
“ATTENTION VOTERS
Effective 10/31/12 Governor Corbett has issued Executive Order number 2012-14, extending the deadline for absentee ballots to be received by the County Board of Elections to Monday, November 5, 2012 in those counties that experienced weather-related office closures at any time during the week of 10/29/12.
Therefore absentee ballots received after the normal deadline of 5pm on Friday 11/2/12 will be retained by the County Board of Elections for canvassing by the County Board of Elections after Election Day.
Governor Corbett has extended the deadline for absentee ballot applications one day for each day the county closed due to Hurricane Sandy. The County expects to re-open on Wednesday, Oct. 31st., therefore absentee ballot applications will be accepted in our office until 5pm on Thursday November 1, 2012. All voted ballots must be received by 5pm on Monday November 5, 2012.
On Election Day November 6, 2012, all voters who arrive at their polling location to vote will be asked but not be required to show an acceptable form of photo ID.
Polls are open 7:00am to 8:00pm in Chester County.”
