Biographical Background: Tredyffrin 2011 Democratic Candidates
“The school district has been battling the budget crunch caused by a declining real estate market, and now deep cuts in state aid to education have added further fiscal woes,” said TTDems Chair Dariel Jamieson. “On the commercial side, there are too many lost jobs and vacant store-fronts even in our prosperous community. Our candidates have already been working to preserve excellence in our schools and for sustainable quality-of-life enhancements to our community–all within today’s economic realities. These are Democrats standing for sound fiscal policies, sustainable excellence in our schools and fair, transparent local government.”

New Schedule for 2011 Meeting Dates
After polling our most active members, we have applied some flexibility to our 2011 monthly meeting schedule. We found the 4th Wednesday of each month to be most convenient for more members, and we have rescheduled most of monthly meetings to that pattern. There are some exceptions in the fall months closest to election. Please look at the schedule, and load the new dates into your calendar.
Fully staffed! Two Democratic committeepersons in every Tredyffrin precinct.
Two Democratic commiteepersons are now serving in each of Tredyffrin’s 17 precincts. Do you know who covers your precinct?
Thank you for your 2010 election support.
Tredyffrin remains a leader in Democratic strength in Chester County. While we wish we could report our virtuous Democrats were rewarded with election success and mourn their defeat, we can take pride in their stronger performance in Tredyffrin compared to state and district outcomes. Here are comparisons. Thank you for backing their races.
Appreciation to Candidates/Attendees for Harvest Fest Fun
Thanks to Congressional candidate Manan Trivedi and State Representative Paul Drucker for starting our evening so positively. We also appreciate Chesco Dem Vice-Chair Bob Graham for representing Dan Onorato’s gubernatorial campaign, and United Food & Commerical Workers Political Director John Myerson for not only advocating for Joe Sestak but also for inspiring words on grassroots work. Thanks to Faux Bo for a canine perspective.
We especially appreciate the outstanding organizing effort by our event planning hostess Christina Johnson. Thanks also to the food providers who worked with Christina to highlight locally-produced gourmet selections: Stargazer Vineyard, Chadds Ford Winery, fine cheeses from Yellow Springs Farm, Hendricks Farm, and Birchrun Hill Farm, and Matt Guyer from Wayne’s Beer Yard for the brew selections. Thanks to Mark Rustand from the Saturday Club for set-up help.
Thanks to all who attended, who donated money, who brought food, and contributed to conversation and a socially-satisfying evening.
