Back Yard Eco Tour on July 16

Here is a worthy summer break from politics: Our Tredyffrin Back Yard Eco Tour returns for a second year,  by popular demand, on July 16.

We will be visiting 8 properties, different from last year but with similar objectives of gardening in an earth-friendly manner.

Learn how to save $$ on fertilizers, herbicides, lawn care & maintenance.
Have more time to enjoy your yard, in harmony with nature.

DATE: Saturday, July 16th Rain or shine
TIME: 10 am to 4 pm (arrive & depart on your own schedule)

Get practical ideas you can apply in your own yard:

  • Tour new Penn Medicine at Valley Force’s green roof, rain gardens and meadow
  • Discover easy organic vegetable gardening
  • See and learn about locally native plants
  • Hear how to create a certified wildlife habitat
  • See a rain garden that controls stormwater
  • Learn about geothermal energy for homes
  • Learn how to compost lawn and home waste
  • See a honeybee hive and learn about attracting native bees

STARTING LOCATION: Purchase your “badge” and get map & directions at Tredyffrin Township Library parking lot, 582 Upper Gulph Rd., Strafford/Wayne, PA 19087 from 9:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

COST: $10 per adult, children under 18 free
