Bill DeHaven Endorses Molly Duffy–Former Supervisor Tells Why
In a letter to friends in the community, former Tredyffrin Supervisor Bill DeHaven gives specific reasons why he is backing Molly Duffy for supervisor in the November 8 election.
Bill DeHaven, a Republican, served as Township Supervisor through 7 years until 2009. Before that, he was a police officer in Tredyffrin for nearly 30 years. Bill has a local public access TV show, and has wide friendships in our community. His endorsement demonstrates the cross-party, broad community support that Molly Duffy attracts.
Here is what Mr. DeHaven wrote about Molly:
Dear Friends,
I am writing in support of Molly Duffy for Supervisor on November 8. Of all the candidates running this year, Molly is the most committed and prepared to make a positive difference in our community. Through her leadership and hard work on township boards, her years of experience as an attorney and local business owner, she knows the issues that are important to Tredyffrin residents.I had the pleasure of working with Molly on a number of issues while I served as District 2 Supervisor. I worked with her on the sidewalks to schools plan that was completed around TIE Middle School and Conestoga High School. In my opinion, these sidewalks are one of the best things that have happened in Berwyn because they’ve connected our community and made it safer.
As Chair of the Environmental Advisory Committee, Molly appeared on my show, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” a few years ago to ask residents to buy a portion of their electricity from clean energy providers. As a result of her. efforts, Tredyffrin had the second highest participation rate in Pennsylvania, and Tredyffrin was awarded a $10,000 grant.
Molly and I share a strong belief that redeveloping some of Tredyffrin’s commercial areas will help the whole township prosper. It will bring in more tax revenue and help preserve our quality of life.
There’s no question Molly Duffy is the right person for the job and has the track record to prove it. I’ll be voting for her on November 8. I hope you will give Molly your serious consideration.
Sincerely,
Bill DeHaven
