Historical Commission
Purpose
The Tredyffrin Township Historical Commission serves as an advisory group to the Board of Supervisors on matters related to the preservation and appreciation of the township’s historic resources. The Commission works to promote heritage conservation and educate residents about the importance of protecting historically significant places throughout the township.
What They Do
The Historical Commission advises Township staff, as well as other Boards and Commissions, on issues involving historic preservation. The Commission also supports initiatives and projects that raise awareness of Tredyffrin’s history and encourage stewardship of historic buildings, landscapes, and cultural heritage resources.
Who Can Participate
Residents or business owners in Tredyffrin Township with an interest in history, archaeology, or historic preservation are encouraged to participate. Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Registered architects, especially with preservation experience
- Architectural historians
- Planning and zoning professionals
- Licensed realtors, particularly those with experience in historic properties
- Historic home restoration and related trades
- Historical research, including the study of historic homes and their past residents
Meeting Schedule
The Historical Commission meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted.
