Board of Supervisors
Purpose
Tredyffrin Township is governed under a Home Rule Charter adopted by voters in 1974 and effective in 1976. The Charter places responsibility for local policy and decision-making in the hands of the Township’s Board of Supervisors.
What They Do
The Board of Supervisors serves as the township’s governing body. The Board establishes local policy, adopts ordinances and resolutions, sets tax rates, and approves the township’s operating and capital budgets.
The Board is responsible for overseeing key municipal services including police and fire protection, planning and zoning, street maintenance and snow removal, sanitary sewer systems, libraries, parks and recreation, land development, and building regulation. The Supervisors also appoint residents to various township boards, commissions, and authorities that support local governance.
Membership
The Board of Supervisors consists of seven members. Three are elected from township districts and four are elected at-large by all township voters. Supervisors serve staggered four-year terms and receive an annual salary of $3,000.
Meeting Schedule
The Board of Supervisors typically meets once or twice each month on Monday evenings at 7:00 PM, unless otherwise advertised or posted on the township calendar.
