Improved Roads and Bridges near Tredyffrin

The new bicycle/pedestrian bridge named for revolutionary hero General Sullivan opened on 19 August. It is a small part of the Route 422 bridge replacement project. The new, five-span structures will be 785 feet long and have a total width of 146 feet (the bridge’s existing width is 72 feet). When construction is completed, the new bridges will carry six lanes – three westbound and three eastbound. There will be two through lanes in each route 422 backupdirection plus a third lane on both sides for drivers to use to travel between the Route 363 (Trooper Road) and Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) interchanges. The new bridges will be wide enough for the possible addition of a third through lane in each direction sometime in the future.

Many people came to the opening ceremony for the General Sullivan Bridge. Warren Kampf spoke at the opening and was very truthful in his remarks. Kampf stated that he could not take credit for the project. In fact, he voted against the funding for the project. Act 89 passed the legislature in 2013 despite Warren Kampf voting No both times it came up for approval. Other local projects being funded by Act 89 include the improvements to the Paoli Train Station. improvements along Route 202 in Tredyffrin, and resurfacing of Route 30 and 252. The Walker Road Bridge replacement was paid for by Act 96 on 2008-2009 which was approved before Representative Kampf was elected to be a representative.

Hans van Mol would support investments in infrastructure for Chester and Montgomery County.
