Running for re-election, Tom has battled a Republican majority in both the PA House and Senate for adequate funding for education, social services, infrastructure and fair elections. He fully restored the $1 billion cut to education made under the Corbett administration. He was at the forefront in the battle to secure a fair congressional map for Pennsylvania and will fight to end gerrymandering. He will continue to stand up to Donald Trump’s attempts to gut Medicaid, increase premiums, charge seniors an age tax, and strip coverage from people with pre-existing conditions. John Fetterman for Lt. Governor
John is a native Pennsylvanian and the mayor of Braddock, PA since 2005. He led the revitalization of this economically depressed town in the Pittsburgh suburbs. Applying what he’d learned as an AmeriCorps volunteer and from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, he focused on finding solutions that have turned Braddock into a growing, thriving community. Mayor John officiated one of the first same-sex marriages in the commonwealth. In 2016, he decided to run for U.S. Senate to represent the struggling towns all over Pennsylvania that have gotten a raw deal. He shocked the establishment by earning 20% of the vote in a 4-way race and winning Allegheny County, the 2nd-largest in the state. Melissa Shusterman for the PA House
Melissa is a 4th-generation resident of the greater Phoenixville area. She worked for several start-ups and national media companies such as The Food Network, VH1, fx, HGTV, MTV, QVC and fuse network, and then founded her own business, Fedora Media, a digital video production company that provides high quality digital video for various devices and platforms. She is very active in her community and with local charities. Melissa is not a career politician, but a passionate citizen who loves her community and is fed up with the political gridlock in Harrisburg. Mark Freed for Tredyffrin Township Supervisor
Mark, his wife Rose and their three daughters have lived in Berwyn for 19 years. He is a graduate of Brandeis University and Villanova University School of Law. He was elected to the Tredyffrin Board of Supervisors in 2013 and served a four year term. During that time he helped lead the Township in the Valley Creek Trunk sewer repair and worked to increase the number of police officers on the force, provide stable funding to our fire companies and support development projects that respect our neighborhoods and the environment. Mark is an attorney who for twenty-five years has represented clients in the areas of environmental, municipal and public sector law. He has repeatedly been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. He is a partner at Curtin & Heefner LLP, with offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In 2015 he was named to the Pennsylvania Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force. He also served on the Executive Board of the Chester County Association of Township Officials, and as an adjunct professor at Saint Joseph’s University. Mark served eight years as an Assistant Counsel with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. He also served two years as a criminal prosecutor in the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Environmental Crimes Section, where he prosecuted cases involving water pollution, hazardous water and storage tanks. Mark has argued and tried numerous cases in State and Federal courts including the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Earlier this year Mark represented Senator Andy Dinniman at the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission against Sunoco’s Mariner East pipelines. His law firm filed the complaint and sought an injunction to halt the operation of the Mariner East 1 pipeline and stop the construction of the Mariner East 2 and Mariner East 2X pipelines in West Whiteland Township. Mark and his co-counsel prevailed on Senator Dinniman’s petition for relief. The judge found that Sunoco had failed to conduct proper testing that could have avoided damage to private property, and that it must provide information to “protect the public from danger and reduce the hazards to which the public may be subjected.”Mark Freed for Township Supervisor
