More Gun Safety Activities in Tredyffrin

Monday at Board of Supervisor’s Meeting

Voice your support for stronger gun safety measures that protect our families and reduce gun violence.

Plan to attend Monday’s Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisors’ meeting at the Township Building at 7 PM.  On the agenda is a second attempt to pass a resolution supporting responsible gun ownership and common-sense gun safety laws.

Text of Resolution

Supervisor Matt Holt presented a resolution at the Board’s last meeting on February 20. His motion did not receive a second, but when Chair Heather Greenberg tried to move on without any further discussion, members of the audience objected and spoke out. Supervisor Murph Wysocki expressed his view that more input from Board members and the community was needed. He made a motion that a revised resolution be written and presented at the March 19 BOS meeting. It was seconded by Supervisor Sean Moir. The full board then voted to take up the issue again on Monday. Public input was encouraged.

Similar resolutions have been passed by a number of municipalities in the last month including Downingtown and Kennett Square. A community discussion and a Walk-Out at Conestoga High School were held on March 14 to honor the 17 victims of the February 14 mass shooting in Parkland, FL and to discuss what steps we can take by contacting our legislators and improving safety in our communities.

Wednesday at the Tredyffrin Democratic Committee Monthly Meeting

The community has another opportunity to discuss gun safety. The TTDEMS will host speakers from Gun Sense Chester County at their monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 21 at 7:30 in the Township Building. All are welcome.
