New Legislative Districts Approved for State House and State Senate
New Pennsylvania House district maps have been approved. What does this mean for Tredyffrin? Tredyffrin remains the largest block of voters in the redrawn 157th district. Previously the district went north including Phoenixville and parts of Montgomery County. Tredyffrin was the southern border. Now Tredyffrin is geographically in the center and the district extends south into Easttown and Willistown. Representative Shusterman had several comments about the new maps.
- She is very pleased with the new House district maps. They are a great improvement over the old ones.
- She applauds the work of Fair Districts. They worked extremely hard to stop gerrymandering and to shine a light on the process.
- She regrets the loss of Phoenixville and her part of Upper Providence Township in Montgomery County. She had worked on many projects with the people and local governments.
- She grew up in Easttown and her parents live there. She is delighted to begin working with Easttown and Willistown.
For our local school board having one representative for the district should make coordination and interaction easier.
