Vote By Mail Monday — Ballots Are Coming!

Ballots are coming! They’re being printed now and should be in the mail over the next few days to a week. There have been a LOT of ballot requests, so it may take some time to get them all out.

You can go online and track when your ballot is mailed: PA Voter Services Ballot Tracker. It shows when your application was received and ‘processed’. It will also tell you when your ballot is mailed. And, after you fill out the ballot and return it, it will give you the date that they received it.

Make sure you follow ALL of the voting instructions that come with your mail-in ballot! There are a number of steps, and you need to sign in the right places and use the right envelopes

Did you know that you can drop your voted mail-in ballot at a secure location rather than entrusting it to the mail?

Voter Services, at 601 Westtown Road in West Chester, has a drop box available, where voted, sealed mail-in ballots can be dropped. 12 other locations around the county are opening on 10/7 and 10/13. These drop boxes will be located at secure indoor locations and will be emptied daily by deputies wearing body cameras. (Please know that in PA it’s illegal to drop off anyone’s ballot but your own – you cannot deliver for others, even family members.)

Did you know that you can vote in person at the poll on Election Day, even if you’ve signed up to vote by mail?

That’s right: requesting a mail-in ballot doesn’t remove your ability to vote in person instead. Just bring the mail-in ballot package, including all the envelopes and materials you received, to the poll on Election Day. The poll workers will void it and give you a regular in-person ballot, no questions asked. If you applied for the mail ballot but never received it, they’ll give you a provisional ballot, which will be counted once Voter Services verifies you did not also vote by mail.

Did you know that the “straight ticket” option will no longer appear on your ballot?

When the legislature expanded vote-by-mail in the summer, they also removed the straight-ticket voting option from the ballot. As a result, you will need fill in all the circles for all the races. PLEASE VOTE ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BALLOT! Local offices like State Rep, State Senator, Auditor General and Attorney General are vital to keeping democracy working in PA.
