Chester County Officials Announce Capture of Escaped Inmate
Chester County officials confirmed the capture of escaped inmate Danilo Cavalcante, bringing an end to the two-week search that involved local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
County Commissioners thanked the many law enforcement officers and emergency personnel who worked around the clock during the search effort, often in difficult conditions.
“The capture of Cavalcante ends the nightmare of the past two weeks, and we thank every single law enforcement official at the regional, state, and federal level that was out in all weather conditions, all day and night,” the commissioners said in a statement.
The commissioners also recognized the work of the incident command team, the Chester County Department of Emergency Services, and the Chester County Sheriff’s Office for their coordination and dedication throughout the search.
Residents across the region had been advised to remain vigilant while the search was underway. Officials noted that the successful conclusion of the operation reflected strong cooperation between multiple law enforcement agencies.
