Molly Duffy Endorsed For Supervisor in Tredyffrin’s May 17 Special Election

Molly Duffy supervisor candidateAttorney, local business owner, and community volunteer, Molly F. Duffy has been unanimously endorsed by the Tredyffrin Township Democratic Committee to run in the May 17 special election for Supervisor-at-large.

“I would like to serve on the Board of Supervisors because I care deeply about the future of Tredyffrin and would like to help realize the community vision”, explained Molly. “I will work hard for greatest efficiency in township services, stable funding for public safety, and revitalizing business development.”

Molly is the principal owner of EarthSmart Consulting, which provides business and technical expertise in adopting green practices that improve an organization’s bottom line. Current clients include the Transportation Management Association of Chester County and Practical Energy Solutions.

As an attorney with 15 years of experience, Molly has negotiated with landowners and drafted conservation easements, advised in the incorporation of land trusts and non-profit board development. Molly served on the Planning Commission and Business Revitalization Task Force when she lived in Conshohocken.

“Molly was a natural candidate for us to put forward at this time, given the standout contributions she has made as a volunteer for several citizen committees,” says Dariel Jamieson, Chair of the Tredyffrin Democratic Committee. “It’s work that shows a deep sense of commitment to the township.”

Molly currently serves as vice-chair of Tredyffrin’s Sidewalks, Trails and Paths Committee. As a founding member, she helped develop and coordinate with the Township the new sidewalk project providing two miles of safe routes between Conestoga High School, Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle School, the YMCA and Easttown Library. Through the combined efforts of sidewalk committee and the Township, the project was eligible to receive a $2.8 million federal grant that fully paid for construction of this project.

As past chair of Tredyffrin’s Environmental Advisory Council (EAC), Molly led the Township’s successful clean energy campaign, resulting in one of the highest community participation rates in the state.

Molly believes we must live within our means as a township. In those bounds, she is also dedicated to implementing Tredyffrin’s Comprehensive Plan, saying, “This township is blessed with many smart and forward-thinking residents. We are in a position to serve as a model for other townships on a wide range of sustainability issues, from redevelopment of the Paoli Transportation Center to enhanced walkability and preservation of open space.”

Duffy FamilyMolly, her husband Tom and four children have lived in the Valley Hills section of Paoli for seven years. Said Molly, “Like many in Tredyffrin we feel very fortunate. We get to live in this unique location where we can both walk with our kids into Paoli’s commercial district or to the open Land Conservancy woodlands right next to our neighborhood.”

Note: At the top of the May ballot will be a special election race to fill the remaining term of a township supervisor elected to the state assembly. Everyone, including registered independents, can vote in that race.
